Re: HUGS NAVIGATORS!!!

/wave It's been ages, Gala! Good to hear from you. I've been out of the game for over a year now as well, but still check in here once in a while. While unpacking some old stuff I had stored, I found all my printed out (and some hand drawn) old world maps up to Velious. I was reminded of those old d...

Dnevnoy dozor (aka Day Watch, aka Night Watch 2) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409904/ I stumbled on this on, thinking it would be just some strange Russian action movie. I was right - it is a strange Russian action movie - but surprisingly good! I've not yet see the its precursor, Nochnoy dozor (Nig...

Mmmm... BRAINS!

Well, neuroArm managed to not kill the first human patient. This is generally considered a good thing, and the risk my team being sued is marginally less! (Just kidding - we engineers defer all blame to the doctors when things go wrong, then steal all the robotic glory when it works) Here are some r...

1:39 pm... can I go home yet? Bleh, I hate this place.

Anyone have more free online novels? If I can copy and paste the text into a text editor, I can disguise it as "work" and read while I'm in this hellish place.

Re: Salutations

You are almost as rare a sighting as Nebby these days, how is life in TO? Yeah, sorry about that. Life here is hellish right now. The government blocked the sale of MDA to ATK, the company is laying people off left and right, and somehow, I keep getting missed. It's very frustrating - I've stopped ...

Hey Nebbie, good to hear from ya! I just finished reading what I consider one of the best sci-fi books ever written. The author's from Toronto, and I've actually had a chance to speak with him. He is a marine-biologist-turned-author, who takes great care to research the technical side of his ideas, ...

Re: Why I deguilded...

Two things bother me: 1) Vule's Eye wasted (this takes the effort of the entire raid to get, so that's a lot of people's time and effort wasted) 2) Negative CNP upon leaving (which means you got gear without earning it) I'm not questioning your reasons for leaving, but your manner has offended quite...

I am trying to reconcile my firm belief that Szork is completely amazing with this revelation that he agrees with most of Moore's destroy-America agenda. I am confidant I can do this somehow. Alright, maybe I'll amend my comment to "some" not "most" To be honest, I was referring to "Bowling for Col...

Right or wrong, Micheal Moore's specialty is convincing people of things. Although I typically agree with his agenda, you have to be careful to understand that he has an agenda. He does not hesitate to 'manipulate' facts to suit that agenda. I am interested in seeing the show, but I'll keep an appro...

Szork's (evil) robot!

As many of you know, Kahlyla and I work for MDA (aka MacDonald Dettwiler Robotics) - a company that focuses on unique engineering projects like the space shuttle arm (Canadarm) and the space station arm (SSRMS). I work as a systems engineer, and Kahly is in admin/shipping. Over the past two years, I...

If I recall, Sand Verbena used to drop frequently (like one every 5-10 mobs) in North Ro LDON.

You could probably even solo a few, as long as you had 3 in group initially to get the mission.

Here's some more fun magic for you, then! Power is work done over time. Work done can be simplified to Force times a displacement for the linear case, but the true form is a path integral of F x ds, where ds is an infinitesimal displacement (infinitely small). Since F = mass x acceleration, we have:...

1 watt = 1 joule/second = 1 Newton-meter/second = 1 kg.m^2/s^3

Power, measured in watts, can represent all sorts of things, but is basically "amount of work done". The most familar definition to me is force x distance / time.

Yes, 1 amp across a 1 volt potential is 1 watt.

Yes, to both Sid and Aubri. Polar coordinates can be applied to n-dimensional space, and spherical is the 3D case. It is often represented by a vector lengh (radius), angle with respect to x axis in xy plane (theta), and the angle with respect to z axis in the angled plane (phi). http://mathworld.wo...
