New Hot Zones 6-13

We all go looking for these when we play our alts, so here it is!

Starting 6-13-2006

Level 20: Swamp of No Hope
Level 25: Overthere
Level 30: Timorous Deep
Level 35: Emerald Jungle
Level 40: Dreadlands
Level 45: City of Mist
Level 50: Skyfire
Level 55: Karnor's Castle
Level 60: Veksar

ok where in Timorous deep can a 30 get good xp? I was doing cougars in iceclad (got 4 alts to 30 there:) ), and I do not see any comparible xp to them. The fallen sailors (or whatever they are called) are ok, but they are blue to my 27 druid as opposed to white thru red for cougars.

Not everyone can solo yellow/red cons, but doing so nearly always provides better xp then Blues. So if you can solo something in the hot zone higher then you, it may prove better then cougars. Maybe try OT, EJ, or DL.

I think hotzones are simply a boost to xp in that zone. It is possible there may be higher xp gains elsewhere even though its not a hotzone. Example: Velks may still be better xp at 50 then Skyfire.

Nod. The devs have stated that the hotzones just get a signifigant bump to the zone experience modifier (ZEM). While the ZEM is increased, it's not necessarially the best XP for that level in the game. They're just trying to draw attention to other zones.

think hole would be the better still than skyfire. Still has that meaty zone exp modifier.

My alts usually have a higher level 'watching over' when I play them. Not a true PL but enough to help. I might have to go up a zone, although I was getting decent xp on the skelies that were blue and they were easy

Another interesting thing I just ran across is that the new hot zones have new named and new drops. (new zone-wide drops, new named, and new named that spawn when random mobs are low on hp) It sounds like a lot of fun!

Yeah, I found an Improved Damage 3 aug on a vendor that is dropped from one of the new lowbie zones. Interesting concept. The existing mobs call for help, and a named buddy spawns.

This is a discussion on the new hot zone's extra named. These don't replace any named even if they have the same name. And they have different loot tables, often better in my opinion.
